Ebay refund?

    Heres the scenario...

I sold an item on ebay and basically the item has vanished off the planet and I do believe the buyer is honest. So I am giving the buyer his money back....but when I sold the item I was charged the guts of €20 when the item sold as it was a media item etc.

So now I basically have to fork out €20 back to complete the refund for the buyer? Is this correct?

Do ebay not have any refund option?

    What's this €20?

You won't get any fees back, as it's not eBay's fault that the item went missing. If you register posted it, with Insurance, then you'll get the value back, but eBay have fulfilled their part of the deal by facilitating the auction.

I think the OP is referring to the Final Value Fee he was charged by eBay for selling the item. To claim this back, you should file a Cancel Transaction case. You'll need to make sure the buyer agrees to it in order to get your Final Value Fee credit. You can find out more information here:

Final value fees they charge once the item is sold.

If you get the buyer to mutually withdraw, then you'll get a credit for the eBay fees.
