Talk to the examinations secretary in your school.

In my case it was the vice-principal. May vary from school to school. I am an attendent this year, its a boring boring job but we get paid and to be honest I wouldn't be doing anything at home anyway! :p Its also good fun at the breaks between exams. If you've any other questions for me just pm or reply here :) Also, I suggest you put your name down in september/october of next year because once word gets round at school EVERYONE will be signing up!

Vice-Principle/Principle as soon as you get back.

Try and get to be outside the LC, longer exams=more money!

Really sweet deal! Got a bit over €400 for doing virtually nothing!

The exam secretary is not usually the Principal or Vice Principal. It's usually a Special Duties Teacher or an Assistant Principal.

The time to ask in most schools from about February onwards, as that is when exam entries are finalised and they have more of an idea about numbers of centres etc..

Nice one at €400. I did this many moons ago (around 30 years actually) and I got £15 or £20. It was the supervisor paid me not the school, they were given an allowance towards my pay and I think it really depended on how nice the supervisor was with regards to the pay you got.

I'd do it if I could listen to my iPod and read magazines or whatever, or is it that not allowed?

That's perfectly allowed - some people bring in laptops and watch movies etc. I did it ages ago and liked it!

Yeah I'm dying to do it too. Ask the principal. It's sweet as a....lollypop. The fellas doing it at our schools just sit on their holes watching movies or playing PSP's and DS. The hardest part is making tea and bringing biscuits to the examiner.

I am writing a letter to my vice principle to apply for a superintendents assistant job during the summer. I don't really know what to write. If anybody has written a letter like this, what did you write for your reasons for applying for the job. Will I include a CV?

Talk to the Examinations Secretary, not the VP.

    Half-zombie thread.
