Help piecing RAR back together...hopeless

As the heading states I am having some issues with a rar file I downloaded in several parts.

When I go to extract it (its a 3GB iso image in 8 parts) it will extract part 1 and stop. So I thought part 2 was just corrupt which happens sometimes. Anyway so i checked the archive but found no errors. It seems that whoever uploaded the file literally separated them all in a different manor.

So I can unzip them all into their prospective 400mb part iso's but i cant piece them together.

I only have a meg connection and a 10gb DL limit so i dont want a 3rd of my usage to be a waste.
    So anybody got any ideas?

Are they split files, like .001 .002 .003 etc?
    Try Hjsplit

When you un-rar a file, does it extract as an ISO?

If so, the creator must have created 8 separate ISOs, rather than one ISO split into 8 parts. Did you try right clicking on one of the files and chose "extract all"?

I checked if they were 001 files etc but no they werent. Im thinking about trying to mount each iso part individually, copying the files then adding them to a fresh bootable iso and see how that works.

Can you give the name of the file? If you prefer, you can PM me it and i will post whats needed from the filename for the record. You usually pick the first file and it sorts the rest out extracting the ISO or whatever.
