    H everyone,
just cleared out my wardrobe, everything gone, time to update it.
I need runners/shoes, jeans, jumpers, hoodies the lot.

You've summed it up yourself there almost.
Drop the runners and the hoodies then buy shoes, jeans & jumpers that appeal to you.

Runners are for, well emmm running and hoodies are just shapeless cheap tat, useful for wearing round the house at best.

Invest in a few quality items then top up the rest of the wardrobe with highstreet fashionables. Good shoes, good sports jacket and trousers/jeans should provide a base stock on which to build. Some quality shirts- tshirts then give you the smart or casual options.
After getting a few basics in you can add to your wardrobe other bits and pieces, suit, boots, coat... Eventually you'll work up a wardrobe that will suit each and every occasion from a few pints in the pub to a formal wedding to a funeral or job interview.

    any input is appreciated girls.

    I'm older than Minecraft goats.

My main advice would be to invest in well-fitting, clean-looking clothes, with matching styles and try to stay away over-designed “distressed” crap from River Island etc. Lots of greys, whites, navys and blacks will always look timeless and stop you from looking trend obsessed tosser in day-glo colours. I shop a lot online because the selections are much more varied and cheaper plus you won’t look like a clone out there and will stand out, here’s a few sites I use:

    http://www.asos.com/Man/
    www.endclothing.co.uk
    www.yoox.com
    www.xileclothing.com

    Jackets

For jackets, peacoat jackets for formal and well fitted stuff for casual. I tend to size down sometimes to make the jacket look more fitted and if you wear a big visible belt (but avoid big buckles) should look great.

    Tops

Cardigans are pretty cool, as long as theyre maybe a size below, baggy and long cardigans look terrible. Wear with a plain tee and mix up the colours a bit. RI cardigans are **** though, buy from Topman if you want one or if you have the money, All Saints are very good. Go for plain polos, Lyle and Scott & Penguin are fantastic or Fred Perry and they’re all in Urban Outfitters in town.

For tees go with plain or if they have an interesting design, esp tees with a photo or picture style like the one below

    http://www.endclothing.co.uk/brands/rockwell/rockwell-crying-tee.html

High street shop's tees are awful though (especially anything "distressed" or with stupid "funny" sentences), so stick with online or Urban Outfitters. American Apparel are good for basics too, have a look online with them. Their hoodies especially are cosy and look great.

Belts - Chunky, get a plain black and plain dark brown and you're laughing. If the high street don't have anything nice, the best belts in town are G-Star downstairs in Zara. Expensive though

Jeans - Skinny is thankfully on its way out, slightly baggy/slightly tight is coming in, dark or kinda dark denim only, even it'll be summer, light isnt coming back yet. Make sure you can wear the jeans kinda slouched so your belt and top of boxers show a bit (don't wear plain boxers though, boxers with funky designs are better, check ASOS again) and make sure the jeans are straight leg and finish on your heels, not past your foot. Looks a lot better. I wear Diesel myself and they’re much cheaper online, especially on that Italian site Yoox.com

Shoes – Plimsoles and Hightops, that's all really. Cons don't look that good with baggy jeans but vans do. Size? in town have class Nike's, the only nice runners im seeing lately. Whatever you get try not to mix too many colours around, all my footwear has only about 2 different colours, i.e navy and white cons. If you try mix it up with funkier styles theyrll be a nightmare to match and hurt the understated look you might want.

Finally here’s shops in town I use and brands I recommend if that helps:

Shops – Arnotts, Zara, Debenhams, BT 2, Brown Thomas, All Saints, Size?, Urbna Outfitters
Brands – Full Circle, Diesel, Lyle and Scott, Converse, All Saints, J Lindeberg, G-Star, Uniqlo, American Apparel

    Any q’s PM me

    Emmet
