Hi all,

I am really confused as to the smell coming from my toilet up stairs. The smell seems to come and go and is worst at times than other times. the toilet is scrubbed clean , so clean , we can not clean anymore . I have loacated the smell as deffo coming from down the bowl . The smell gets so bad some times that we have to leave that bathroom window open constantly .If we have that closed the smell is really pungeant . I am wondering is there a blockage further down the waste pipe and am also wondering is it ok to flush down caustic soda to try and clear this blockage .
It is starting to get a bit embarassing if we have guests over to stay .
any advice greatly appreciated.
