I am Dyslexic, and although the problem is by no means bad, its certified ect.

I applied with a supplementary information form to Trinity (which means I essentially applied to have the points lowered slightly), does anyone know if these are usually accepted or rejected.

Atm still on for the points without it, but if the worst happens tomorrow or later it would be nice to know I still have a shot.

You're more likely to get an answer here.

Thanks knife, did think about posting it here. I feel more at home in the LC forum. Lol... (Hopefully that will change in September...)

I included your question in an email to the disability officer, the response is kinda lengthy so I have sent you a PM.

edit: i hope it helps, doesn't seem to answer what I thought you meant though actually, the response was prompt though you may want to try contacting them yourself if you still have questions/worries

Its for people like you that I think boards needs a "super thanks button".

The question is still a bit grey, like I have never actually met anyone else who has applied for one of these, which is kinda weird.

In reality it makes no difference at all whether or not I know, I guess I'll just aim to do without.

As far as i know if you do apply for the points to be lowered when you do eventually get your degree there is some kind of note that goes with t saying that you are dyslexic and points lowered or something like that. An ex girlfriend had very bad dyslexia and did go don this route, however she did go to DIT but also got herslef a free laptop for her troubles so she really doesn mind it.

Orly, thats interesting. I wasn't aware, I don't really mind though. There is a dirty asterix on my leaving cert that says I didn't have to spell properly.

Anyway thanks. I am surprised there aren't more people with experience of this tbh.
