    what would the returns be on a forcast 1stplace 1/2 2nd place 4/1 with a twenty bet on it

    There are a number of factors in determining the return? Number of runners, prices of other runners etc.. I would say about 13/8 using €1 win at 1/2 giving €1.50 and €1.50 place at 4/1 (1/5 the odds a place) but thats not bombproof. The CSF (computer straight forecast) return is (like it says on the tin produced computerically!) and as the its done by the bookies they aint giving much away!

    Just noticed there was a dog race at Belle Vue this evening on Sky won by a 1/2 shot with the 4/1 2nd fav second. That forecast paid €3.34 for a €1 stake so just greater than 9/4
