Any plans for such a service?

There has been one testing for some time now on the DTT platform, though the "old" version is also carried on DTT, I know in the case of the BT Vision box it can get confused as to which one to display when you press "text" and it does crash the MHEG5 engine on that box quite often.

Any screen shots? What is it providing?

There are some on here Elmo, can't remember on which thread though.
News and Sport are updated, the TV Guide can be a bit hit or miss around the Weekends/Bank Holidays. It's a standard enough interface, TV Pic in the right hand corner. I have some grabs of it somewhere, will try and dig them out...

If this is available Via DTT, then why do RTE not broadcast this service on satellite, similar to SKY or BBC text service?

It may just be me but it seems that RTÉ don't want to launch services on pay TV platforms before DTT. Is it still available on DTT?

I presume for the normal reason that they would have to pay?

It is **** and horribly out of date in some sections. Normal Aertel is far superior.

It's a lot easier on the eye than regular teletext. Hopefully when it's up and running as a proper service all the quirks will be sorted out.

No idea. BBC's digital text is a watered down version of CEEFAX also.

Do they not pull the information from the same database/source?

They must do but they certainly don't pull everything.
