    Hi Guys,

I have been getting prices in for limestone cills, lintels and barges.

The quotes are very high for Irish stone.

Some suppliers have quoted me for Chinese limestone. The price is just over have the price of the Irish stone.

Has anyone used Chinese limestone and if so what did u think of it.

    Thanks

    Fuchia

    Hi all,
I'm just looking for advice on whether or not I should go with Chinese Limstone over the Irish product, on my house its working out about €800 less for the Chinese.

Any thoughts, or more particular, has anyone experienced the issued of discolouration/staining as discussed on other threads.

    Thanks.

most of the lime stone used in eyre square in galway came from china so it must be fairly good quality. have a look at some samples and check for cracks etc and compare it with the irish product.

Just because a government funded project choose stone from china doesn't mean it's good quaility.
I'm not commenting on the stone used, but public jobs are notorious for cutting corners.

I've been getting my quotes for these also. Got a quote in one place for Indian granite cill which looked really nice compared to the Chinese granite but price was not so nice.
Am more than likely going with the Chinese granite as it's cheaper than the indian granite but nicer than just plain concrete cills.
