**** me but they are annoying!
Even if they played a nice little ditty rather than a nerve-shattering siren, it wouldn't be so bad.

4.30 this morning, the smoke alarm died and started screaming. Got the hammer. It wont see the light of day again.

Getting a new one tomorrow, heres hoping a fire doesnt break out tonight.

Quite obviously you're not much of a thief if You keep setting the alarms off then are you? ;)

Yes nothing calms a thief better than the sound of Bach being played by a series of electronic beeps.
You should also leave out a nice glass of Merlot & a selection of cheese for him to enjoy while the little ditty is played out.

    Merlot?
Ick. Any self respecting thief deserves Amarone.

I was trying to sound like I knew what I was talking about, notice how I picked a composer that is really easy to spell :D

Truth is the only thing I know about wine is that it gets me drunk & red wine stains my teeth :pac:

Damn you & your knowledge Dr. Bollocko.

I wouldn't smash a smoke alarm. They contain trace elements of radioactive material. There is a warning on the inside of the box.. near the black yoke. I take it you missed that...

Reminds me of that Peter Kay skit; where he said years ago we'd all be out in the street being concerned neighbours at the first sign of an alarm going off, now it's just irritating lol.

The gf car alarm is set on super sensitive and is very easily is triggered even though I tell her we shoud adjust it. Anyway some little bollox no older than 10 found this out and every evening about 6:30pm he would just smack the bonnet then wait for the alarm to stop and just do it again. After about a month of this myself and the gf were heading out around that time and to my amazement we were standing at the car and the little bollox walked by with his grandmother and smacked it in front of us. To make matters worse the granny seeing me steaming just laughed and encouraged him to do it again to my disbelief. **** that - about two days later I waited for the little bollox to show with the granny and chucked a mop bucket of manky water out the third floor window on top of both of them then proceeded to hang out the window pissing myself just so they could see me. Granny and little bollox never touched the car again. I hate alarms.

Then they'd be more like ice-cream vans... the same jingly fúcking crap blaring out 10 times a day, every day.
What's so god damn special about selling ice-cream that they get away with that level of noise pollution in a residential area?
You don't see Tesco or Aldi driving around in vans blaring out shíte attention-grabbing music trying to flog tubs of Ben & Jerrys... we wouldn't tolerate it (Joe Duffy would be covering it all week)... but we tolerate ice-cream vans because of some wanky rose-tinted memory of our own childhood... arse to them, make it illegal.

House and car alarms take the píss though, if you're a selfish enough twat to not care that your alarm is going off all day while you're at work, you don't deserve to have one... I hope your house is getting burgled.

Why do they only go off on sunny days in the summer.
