    FOOOORMAL LETTER.

If they come up alone, the failure rate in French is gonna jump hugely this year.

positive thinking ..THEY WON'T COME UP WITHOUT A CHOICE

i will start crying if they do.

I kinda hope a formal letter does come up, they only ask it on one of two things, either requesting work, or a place to stay. The formal letter doesn't even have to be long, it must be really to the point, and therefore, short.

If you know even a few paragraphs, write them down, you'll get good marks because the marking scheme will be lenient.

Take care with them nazis now, don't be catching anything.

Formal comes on a lot more than just those two. It can be a complaint, Job letter or some other two things.

    Its better than irish atleast,.

The examiners can change any aspect of the test and we can only predict what will come up in any subject!

Anyway, if you learn your opening, ending, layout and have a basic vocabulary you will manage the formal letter!

    TIMING

This is not a time plan out of a book but i usually do the following:
    • A half hour for the Aural, I think, isnt it?
    • Then an hour for the comprehensions .
    • Then an hour for the letter and postcard!

The comprehensions should take 20 minutes at most.

just think of it this way.. i doubt anyone would have really revised formal letters in your year if you haven't? so they can't really push ye all down to pass for the leaving cert just because of a formal letter that ye didn't study?

I very much doubt that for all of those marks 20 minutes is enough for the comprehensions!

You'd be surprised at what the idiots in this country do.

BTW comprehensions should be 45 and letter/postcard 50 the rest is time to read over it and fix your many mistakes.

Fantastic paper, Easiest French I've ever seen. Only two things I didn't answer on the tape. Very happy although I'm sure my grammer in the letter wasn't very good
