They forgot to mention us scientists in DCU!

Interesting, it could happen if all of them felt it was the best way forward. I'm curious to how it would change things for students etc, if it was just a case of the three of them under one name but going about their business as always it probably wouldnt be too big a deal.

If it involves moving campus or cutting some courses for one's in the other colleges it'd be a bigger deal.

TBH I think it would just be the three institutions combining on research like UCD and TCD have decided to do. Wouldn't affect anything else.

The DCU president went on record today to say the article in the Tribune is "pure speculation".

Meaning it's true, that's a non-denial denial, i.e. the talks are taking place.

    I agree.

I think it would be a good thing also.

DCU's campus is located on the north-side of the city spanning more than 85 acres, with faculties covering areas such as business, engineering and humanities.

The Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI) currently has a campus on St Stephen's Green with schools of pharmacy, physiotherapy, nursing and healthcare management.

NUI Maynooth is Ireland's second oldest university and is located 15 miles from Dublin city centre.

It would make for quite a powerful and attractive college tbh. Each college is leading the field in their own unique area.

Keep an eye on Ferdi's blog, he'll probably post on it. http://universitydiary.wordpress.com/
