Eircom connection uptime issues

I'm in the Thurles area and I find that my Eircom 3MB connection drops at least once a day, sometimes as many as 8 or 10 times. It comes back up after a minute or two, but it's very irritating when you're playing games online. Does anyone else have issues with this? I've got a Netopia router. I'm not sure of the model…

I've got a Netopia router. I'm not sure of the model number, it's the small silver one with two aerials.
