RG6 would be regarded as basic cable that is used by a lot of cable installers as it will do the job and more importantly is cheap. However, you gets what you pays for so if you want a top quality cable that is well shielded and will minimise signal loss, then you should look at tx100 cable or equivalent. See here:

http://satellite.ie/acatalog/Triax_TX100_CAI_Approved_satellite_cable.html. This can also be purchased by the metre if you don't require a 100 metre roll.

BTW, I bought the tx100 cable for my diy satellite install a few months back. My house was pre wired for 4 tv points using RG6 cable. While setting up my cables and fitting connectors, it was very evident that the tx100 cable was far superior in the shielding around the inner copper wire whereas the RG6 cable had minimal shielding and would thus be prone to interference over longer runs.

Aluminium foil cable has slightly higher losses and doesn't last as long as copper foil cable outdoors. Sky don't use it at all. But it's up to you.
