    Hi.

I am male and when I don't wear my proper running vests my nipples are fine. However, when i do wear my running vest my nipples start to bleed a lot.
Is this a temporary thing that will go away by constantly wearing my running vest?

it won't go away I'd say, use something like nipguards www.nipguards.com or vaseline / bodyglide works for some people.

    few threads on this before

Vaseline or wearing the HRM solves the problem for me.

A couple of plasters does the job, forgot them on one long run and had a couple of scabby nipples for a week :(

Forgot the Vas on saturday for the relay and mine were hopping after the wind and rain :(

Agree with everyone else about the vaseline. Make sure you're not wearing new vests for the first time on long runs also. Once ran a 10k in a brand spanking new vest, literally shaved off half a nipple on each side.

Compression Vests. Goodbye to any nipple issues. My personal choice would be the Under Armour ones.

hi, serious nipple issues here also, in fact just this lunch i ran three miles back with my hand up my top to ease the pain having forgotten my duct tape. Here my recommendations

Vaseline - worked in the past but stain clothes and wears away about 13 miles
Bodyglide - last longer than 13 miles, doesnt stain
Duct tape - you need to shave area first, can be hit and miss but held for Dublin last year, a lot of sweat will move it though
Nipguards - Havent tried, heard they are hard to remove
Compression tops - Havent tried, heard they are good, seen as Stupid Private has recommended i am going to splash out on one. They do make sense though, it moisture is wicked away then there is less friction, similar to non-blister socks.
Do you wear a singlet over them?

    anyone any other suggestions?

    Step by Step Guide:-

1/ Dab of Vas on eash nipple

2/ Small blot of cotton wool on each

3/ Two strips of paper plasters over each nipple in a cross

Paper plasters are very easy to remove.

    QED

I agree with body glide or plasters. Worst pain ever has to be said!
