    Folks,

Wondering why a car such as the one advertised below is selling for 8k less than the next similiar model. Why would there be such a drop especially given that its a garage selling it (as opposed to a private seller)

Car is out of my league but does seem too good to be true. Wondering what the catch is?

    It's manual?

Its a big petrol mated to a manual gearbox in a small exec. Hard car to shift, especially at the moment. Also, its a base model with only 16" alloys, and no leather and no sat nav. Also, road tax will be the guts of a grand, and fuel economy wont be great. Finally despite the big engine, it wouldnt be particularly sporty(Not like a 325i anyway), and not particularly fast. Insurance will also be hefty. Also, because of all the above, it will still take a fair old hit in resale value from now on. Ina few years time, it'll still be an unattractive buying prospect.

An IS220d of the same age and spec would be way more enticing at the moment. On carzone, is220ds are about the same price, and constitute a much better buy

BTW, their "toyota origins" wouldnt help!:). I reckon would need to lower his price much further to have any hope of a sale.
