I think so at 12 but you will probably have gotten them in the post by then. They usually send them on the Wednesday so everyone definitely has them by Friday.

I've always got them on the Thurs.

Isn't it a killer to think that our results are just sitting there waiting to be posted and that they already know how we did!

Good luck with the results I'm sick at the thought of getting them

For all who did their P2's can i ask you some advice? I plan on sitting one in August, so what would your recommendation be? Which in your opinion is the handiest? I will be going the BPP Home study route again as i found it very helpful doing my P1's

All depends on which subjects you are going to pick.
I was on the old syllabus so i wont be much help to you.
Corp rep and Tax are hard, there is lot of work involved
I know very little about SKLM, only that it looks like a bullsh*t subject, mind you alot of people seemed to have passed it.I struggled on the old subject of Mgt and Strat in P1, used all my 4 attempts!! Dont like theory, numbers are good!!!
If you were good at Man Fin, then look into the SCR paper, it is done my the same examiner and doesnt seem that bad,
Auditing isnt that much harder, just boring!

All your P2's will be open book, which doesnt make it easier, its more of a distraction to be honest and nearly makes the questions they ask harder.

If you want your practicing cert you willhave to do tax and auditing, if thats the case try auditing.

Just remember that this will be counted as an attempt, so you will only have 3 left to get the rest, hopefully that wint be an issue,
Like if I someone like me can ge all 4 if one go, there is hope for everyone!! :)

well done to you all :) congrats
a few years ago I did p2 auditing over the summer, went to BPP and Griffith College revision seminars and it was my best result of all the exams.. got up an hour earlier and read stuff in the mornings .. it wasn't too bad and it really lightened the load for doing the other 3 the next april.about 4 or 5 of us did it and it was greart to get it out of the way so I'd say go for it and good luck with it :)MV

Is P2 auditing just a follow on from P1 auditing? Would there be a good few similarities? I might try that seeing as P1 auditing is somewhat fresh in my head!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 64 ✭✭millyvanilli

our lecturer recommender we do it ..it's 4 years since I did it so do not know about the new syllabus but I am sure it is still somewhat the same.if you're going to BPP ask them and like I said as its all reading stuff:mad: and if the dates for the revision seminars don't clash I would recommend doing the two-- you'd get different aspects of it. where u going to bpp ? mv

For P1 i didn't do any revision courses, as i'd done them in Griffith the previous year and failed both. But Limerick is my nearest BPP revision centre as i'm situated in Cork. I think i'll take your advice and do the Audit. How did everyone fare with the open book in Audit?

Does anyone know of any other forums where CPA students talk about exams??

I thought it was a tricky paper but I would think that they marked it easy as I was sure I failed it but got 57. The openbook was a distraction really didn't help much at all. At the same time I would highly recommend BPP Limerick for P2 Auditing.

    No bother, have fun!

No suggested solutions yet, mind you I wouldn't rely on them too much as they usually have errors in them.

Griffith Colleges lecturer Tom is absolutely brilliant I had him last year and this year and he's just got a great way of explaining everything... The one thing I found when doing P1 corp rep was just to do as many questions as possible without looking at the answer.
But I would recommend Griffith for all the courses.

Is P2 Auditing much harder than P1??

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 64 ✭✭millyvanilli

Hi as far as I can remember it was easier then.:).do not know about the new syllabus .it was called audit practice then (i did it aug 2005 ) and it was applying the theory of p1 to situations and was not too bad or maybe we just got an easy paper that year.it was my best result and 17 marks better than my p1 audit result so prob was easy :)mv

I agree, I had Tom for P1 last yr and P2 this year and I got them both first time, He is really good and makes it look very easy, he will not over complicate it.
    And is very approachable

Wud defo recommend Griffith, I did the mid week course for the last 2 yrs, its a tough slog but worth it.

It isnt that much harder, you just have to have a better understanding of it, its not just regurgitating information like in p1.

You also need a better knowledge of the ISA's.

I didnt do too much work for it(didnt have the time doing all 4!!) but got through it fairly well.

    Hi,

any ideas on what will come on repeat? I am SO SICK of studying the blasted thing... i can plod on no longer...

    anyone in same boat?

apparently for the 2009 CR P1, the failure rate was the highest ever...

that might bring consolation to those of us repeating..ie, we're a BIG group!

sorry, just needed to moan..and moan..and moan..:(

    Join the club my friend..

Going over the past papers... Cash Flow looks a cert..

Sick of studying the thing myself! How did ya hear about the failure rate?

+1 for Tom in Griffith College, nice guy and a great lecturer. Thank god i'm not repeating.

Best advice is to do the questions over and over without flicking to the answers every minute. It's the only way to do it.

P1 Corp. Reporting in April was a shockingly tough paper, I reckon September will be easier.

Hi guys is anyone repeating the Law for P1? I hate this subject and I'm panicking over it as I find it really hard to learn!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 561 ✭✭✭Shurwhynot

I repeated P1 Law in May and got 64. There is a lot in it, but the questions aren't usually that over-complicated. It just depends on your ability to remember stuff really!
