ok im not sure as to where to post this but this seems like the most plausable.
I was out with 3 mates of mine tonight to go for a drink to celebrate me getting into a college in Austria and well alot of stuff went down.
first of all let me explain that 2 of my friends had been bared from the pub in question previously. One of them had been told by a bouncer that he was allowed back in. Now toinght we where celebrating while friend 1 went to get a pint. on his way back to the outside area he was told by the bouncer in question to leave the premises as he had already been barred.
The other Friend ( who was alledgedly told he was un barred and i have 3 people to testify to this ) was picked up by his neck and dragged out by the same bouncer and thrown to the ground. he was then kicked and hit in the back by the said bouncer. Upon seeing this me and another friend got up. As my friend, who was assaulted, and the bouncer squared of the gardai pulled up and began to threaten my friend to get away. he went up to the squad car to plead his case but the cop was having none of it. I pulled him away and tried to talk to the gard. Upon doing so i was threatened with abusive language by 2 gardai in the squad car and told i was drunk and to walk away. I did and tried to walk back to the pub and was refused admission. I was given no reason for this. I asked for the name of the boucner in question which no one would give to me so i went back to the sqaud car but was met with abusive language from them. I did manage to take down the squad car no. and the gardai no. off their unifrom though.
Also as we wlked home the squad car followed us for a bit and as we where talking ( we where calling a friend who had stopped us trying to plead our case to the cops, a Sp**tic, ) but they pulled up and i qoute " who the F**k are you callin S**tic. Ye drunks " they gave us abuse imo for no reason, and well the reason im saying all this is because im only trying to go for a nice night out with friends and its ended up being ruined by what i consider to be bouncers and Gardai on nothing else but a power trip and i want to take action.
im asking for advise on whatt o do here. Any help apprecitated

go talk to the garda in the station for starters about what happened and if you dont get a satisfactory response tell him that you are making an official complaint about him for verbally abusing you .

gardai and bouncers on a powertrip??big surprise there...at the end of the day if you are out in ireland and anything happens the gardai will automatically assume that you are twisted drunk and will proceed to dismiss everything you say as nothing but drunken ramblings, even if you dont drink or have only have one pint...

being a waterford man myself seanie , me and you know that a lot of doormen in waterford can have a big opinion of themselves and can go OTT at times , im not sure if its pure agressiveness or just that they do not know how to handle a situation properly and react with OTT and sometimes violent tactics just to get you out the door.

i can understand where the OP is coming from , and how he feels he has been treated , if the lad said he had 1 pint then who are we to contradict him saying he was drunk , just because doormen and police are there to keep the peace does not mean what they say goes , we live in a democracy not a dictatorship.

(Just tidied up a bit )

So yourself and two others were in a pub.

The two other lads were barred from the pub but still slipped in

The bouncer throws out one lad that was barred.

Then you "recruited" another friend to go over and "sort it out" :
Upon seeing this me and another friend got up.

    (from another post)
    http://boards.ie/vbulletin/showpost.php?p=60526876&postcount=70
"One of the first weeks of college I got quite drunk and threw the t.v. A kettle id found and a guitar out of the bathroom window ( second story) . I then proceeded to go outside and stamp on em just to make sre they where broke. "

A squad car arrived and asked you leave ( I think this is well within their rights , I wouldn't know much about law )

You tried to get back into the pub again

You went back to the squad car again

They were making sure the three ( or now four? ) were leaving the area

( since you seem to have an invisible return spring )
and well the reason im saying all this is because im only trying to go for a nice night out with friends and its ended up being ruined by what i consider to be bouncers and Gardai on nothing else but a power trip and i want to take action.

i had one pint actually. And i can swear that my friends where not drunk either

    Was it this then ?

    http://boards.ie/vbulletin/showpost.php?p=59805702&postcount=2120

    something a bit stronger ?

    http://boards.ie/vbulletin/showpost.php?p=58884696&postcount=1732

i'm asking for advise on what to do here. Any help apprecitated

Don't complain when you were on shaky ground anyway ?

    - more so with a link to your Bebo in you sig. http://www.bebo.com/Profile.jsp?MemberId=5506556850

the people your are going to take action against might paint a different picture very easily.

( all the above is just to prove the point of why you shouldn't have posted your complaint )

There's no legal definition of what drunk is in Ireland. It's completely subjective. However, it is illegal to be drunk in Ireland.

Up to the cop's opinion to be honest.

    @ bushy.
We have all have nights like that.
If anyone of ye knew me ye would actually know im a very light drinker.
I was in every right to ask for the No. of The Gardai and thats why i kept going back to the car.
Also me and a friend got up as it looked very likely that my friend was about to be beaten to a pulp by the bouncer
We also hadnt slipped into the pub. We walked straight past the bouncer when it was very quiet. the second it got any bit busy we wernt needed any more.
I totaly understand that bouncers have it very hard here, but this was just over the top

    this is the main point.
I wasnt drunk. thats why im so angry over this. I was treated like an animal and given no reason for it.

    Bouncers in Ireland = a**eholes(*)

    Cops in Ireland =a**eholes(*)

Don't worry about it too much. Nothing you can really do about it tbh.
They lie and back each other up so you're screwed really. Find somewhere to have a beer would be my suggestion.

(*) This is my personal opinion and should not be taken as fact by anyone else ;)

This was intended to give the OP an idea of my opinions on these two groups so that he would know my advice was coming from a non-objective viewpoint which would help make it easier for him to decide whether to accept the advice or discount it. Thank you for your modding attempt though.

It wasnt a modding attempt.....it was intended to give you an idea of my opinion on your post so that you would know my reaction to your post was comming from an objective viewpoint which would help make it easier for you to decide whether to post unhelpful, abusive posts in a very good informative legal forum and whether you eccepth the advice or discount it is you decision

I would say that taking my answer and pretty much re-quoting it back to me is immature, yes. :)

    Did I......didnt realise!

Totally re quoting it maybe more accurate. Just to show that your well worded comment could be used for the opposite:pac:

Would you not agree that this is an immature way to go about making your point. Why not just make your point without resorting to these, frankly childish, methods? ;)

And so the circle completes....could you not make your point without calling Gardaí imature names and saying they lie to back each other up???

    See my point?

I can't say that I do. I speak from experience about lying Gardai so can't see why you would bring that up? A**eholes is also a common enough term and I wouldn't particularly view it as childish name-calling. As I already pointed out more a personal opinion.
Good avoiding of actually responding to my accusation that you are immature btw. I can see that you like to twist things to your own end without actually responding to anything put to you.
Anyway, lets not take this too far off topic or a real mod will be along soon to slap our wrists! :D

You haven't given the OP any advice whatsoever except ridicule two large categories of people which quite frankly isn't helpful to this thread and they are opinions you should keep to yourself.
