I'd say 1984 was good because ghostbusters came out :pac:

And 1988 because of Euro '88.

Wasnt around for the 80's myself so I'm wondering what the experts think!

Your favorite year (and least favorite if you're feeling like it ;))

1983. Spent almost the whole summer in Curracloe camping. Don't remember it raining and the girls were all beautiful.

I think 1984 too. Was a brilliant Summer if I remember rightly.

Used to record and re-watch Top of the Pops religiously. FGTH Two Tribes was number one nearly all Summer.

I would have to go with the 12 month period between July '84 and July '85.

Great music in '84 along with the Band Aid video at Christmas (brings back good memories) and also it includes Live Aid in July '85.

1989, mainly because it was a beautiful long, hot Summer.

The music was great- there was Martika "Toy Soldiers", Gladys Knight "Licence to Kill", Simply Red "It's only Love".

I moved to London to start college that year, and found it so exciting living in a city (after many years living in the sticks!)

I liked 87/88. I was 5/6 & 7 in those years and I have happy memories of all. Moved house in '88 and my world opened up because I could cycle without stabilisers. :D

    Music that reminds me of the times;

Dire Straights - I want my MTV
    Bangles - Eternal Flame
    Peter Gabriel - Sledgehammer
    We are the world
    We didn't start the fire

(some may have been after these years but they remind me of them)

1984, finished college that year, went on work experience in Sligo and have fond memories of Xanadu's and Rosses Point beach. Then moved to Ennis. It was a summer of parties and enjoying myself.

    Emigrated in the November.

1988 for me, Dublin millenium, Euro 88 and all the hype surrounding that, and my very first job: selling chocolate biccies door to door during the summer to go with the cups of tea during the matches.
