Ya it does happen quite regularly especially at night.
Where i used to be stationed it was a big problem especially on weekend nights.

Id say nice guy always or some of the other traffic lads would be better able to inform you regarding the various operation traffic units have set up regarding the problems caused by such activity in areas

Ya several operations are put in place. ''operation crub'' is the one in the papers these days to combat ''boy racers'' (not fond of that term)

This is a major problem in every town in Ireland but once in a while we get them nicely......that wine octivia is great. Nobody suspects it tbh. 2 ltr petrol so good to go. Hope a dangerous driving charge will be prefered to both drivers.

There is always an operation of some kind on at anyone time for Traffic members to concentrate on one aspect of RTA, as well as te normal stuff. Too many to list and some are not in the public domain.

I'd say the driver would prefer a caution!

Unmarked VRS Octavia is it ? The perfect unmarked car..looks like grandads sunday morning car but fast as hell and good handling. Even the 140bhp TDI is a nippy machine.

Yep, well done for doing the job they are required to do. Keep up the good work. These irresponsible drivers deserve all they get.

No sarcasim as it is a fact. All members are required to carry out their duties as perscribed irrespective of their postings.

As stated in my previous post, keep up the good work to those officers and as an addition, do the job and be safe.... I know how dangerous it is having been there myself, albiet in London.....

Ps, you claim to be traffic? Do you want a copy of recent Met Traffic Accident Investigation discs? I've already dished out a copy to a local traffic officer in Cork City here and he was well happy and a Super in a nearby locality. PM me your dets & I'll mail them on to you if your interested.

    Cheers.....

Standard 2ltr petrol wine Octivia im afraid.

Did somebody here not say before it was a FSI.

Which would make it 150bhp as far as i know.

Not bad, 5bhp more than the 2.0 litre mondeo and without the blue lights would give much better acceleration.

Thought that was the standard 2ltr petrol, no??

No as fast as the unmarked mondeos and not as good with road handling, but make up for it in the undercover dept!
