I've been trying for a long time. Based on the novel 'The Woman Who Walked Into Doors' iirc

I emailed Rte when they launched their catch-up player to ask them generally about their back catalogue, and specifically about "The Family".

They've no plans to re-show it, no plans to put it (or any archive programming) on the player, and since it's a BBC job, they have no idea whether it will ever be released on dvd. (Neither do the Beeb. I asked)

(and I'm pretty sure that it predated The Woman who walked into doors by a couple of years...)

What's the status on programs that will not be reshown or released on DVD? There's no potential revenue loss to anyone if it's shared.

Of course, they might do an about turn some day and re-run it...

My brother has this on tape somewhere. I remember watching it when it was on when I was 7/8 yrs old. My parents must of not heard of censorship. Each episode was based on a family member. I remember the Mam smacking the Dads head with a frying pan because he was giving the daughter dirty looks.

Great show - if grim in parts. Could be very funny too though.
