    I am thinking at getting the following tyres for my car.


    SP Sport 270 235/55 R18 99V LHD

    Does the LHD at the end of the code mean that it is for a LHD car.

    Are there any implications for putting this tyre on a RHD car.

    It is about 730 Euro fitted in my local area for 4.

    The other option I am looking at is

    Which is 235/55R18 99V DUNLOP SP SPORT 270 RHD

    And they are 800 Sterling.


    Any suggestions.

    They had only cheaper tyres.

    HANKOOK and KUMHO

    Got cheaper tyres before nd I had issues with the grip.

    Had the SP Sport 270 before and I found it a good tyre.

    just not sure about the LHD RHD thing.

    can't see how it will make a difference.

    Do you think it could be just their reference number rather than 2 different tyres (LHD & RHD) of tyres :confused:

    Never noticed RHD marking for any tyre. I presume these are directional tyres and if so the maybe maked RHD & LHD in stead of the normal rotation arrows??

    It is odd in that if you order them from Germany where eiretyres come from it is LHD, and if you order them in the UK they are RHD

    I don't see how it could make any difference to the tyres which side of the car the driver sits on.

    That is why I am so confuesd about the whole thing. :confused:

    Could it be something to do with (Id imagine its more so for trucks) that when the vehicle is cornering the weight is being transferred to one side depending on the corner, so maybe on a RHD tyre the side wall is stronger on the out side (the side facing away from the vehicle) to cope with the corner better.

    That was a totally uneducated guess lol
