    Hey all,

Was just wondering what the difference between an acute and chronic illness is, e.g. Hepititis C or Apendicitis? (you can have acute appen. anyway...)

Acute means sudden onset. Chronic means long standing.

Many people confuse acute with severe - but do medical and paramedical professionals, they are very different things.
