anyone know anything about streaming video programs? ive tried a few and eventually found one that seemed to work perfectly (broadcaster studio pro) except one minor thing.... after using it for streaming and not just to watch my files for about 20 seconds my computer always crashes :o okay not so minor

can anyone suggest an alternative (which is free) thats as good as the above mentioned that i can download. Just looking for something simple to use for streaming shows/movies etc i already have on my computer.

I use Tversity to stream all my avi movies and pics and music to my xbox. works a treat too and is free to download, but you can donate money if you wish:)

+1 on Tversity for streaming to xbox etc. I have also used Orb as suggested elsewhere but that was for music to my Wii and I found it a bit fiddly.

Here is just fine. Streaming is not the same thing as podcasting, or even the Flash players often used on podcast sites.

got TVersity after a few people suggested it, didnt like how it it asked me to turn off the User account control (UAC) on my compter before i could install it as once i did i could no longer go on sites like boards but thankfully after putting the UAC back on i can again while still being able to use Tversity.

Can ayone explain exactley how i could use it for what i suggested i.e mostly say streaming movies/tv seasons via a site like JTV (justin.tv), it doesent seem as straight forward as some programs ive tried using before when you just usually press a button labelled someting like broadcast a file after which all i have to do is pick the file from my harddrive and click start.

^^ anything i can find online about streaming with it refers to via Xbox or PS3 neither of which im using, but since people responded suggesting it maybe someone knows how it can be used to stream on say JTV.
