I'm having some doubts about my maths paper, I'm doing honours and failed the mocks by 5%!

If you fail maths, do you have to repeat 3rd year?!?!?......or do you just have to repeat the exam?

You don't repeat anything. You go onto 5th year.

You can't fail the junior cert.

You definitely don't have to repeat it, depending on your school though you might have trouble getting into the higher level class for leaving cert.

If you fail honours maths or honours english it MIGHT affect you getting into an honours class in 5th year but if you want it that bad I know plenty of people who worked hard enough to get moved up.

Anyway...It's the Junior Cert, it's NOTHING worth losing sleep over.

It's the junior cert, an even more pointless exam than something you did in 6th class.

    What happens? nothing. It's pointless.

I'm sure you'll be okay in maths, we'll get an easy marking scheme this year! :)

Anyway, you still move onto the next year, the Junior Cert is only important if your leaving school early...and even at that, it's no big hoo-ha. Going into leaving cert, use it as an indication of your ability, like, if you don't do well in honours junior cert consider pass leaving cert.
    Other than that, it's irrelevant.

I actually came on to ask the same question. My maths paper 1 was painful. I'll be doing ordinary level for the leaving.

no, junior has no reflection on your future schooling, just an indicator not to do the subject for the leaving (at least not at honours)
