Handicap Query?

    Hi

I have a handicap query I’d like to get opinions on. I played the monthly medal on the 30th of May and scored 69 net off 14.8 (15) CSS was deemed to be 73.I had an 8 on a the par 5 13th.

Now under rule 19.8 I should only have been allocated 7 strokes for the 13th meaning I was 5 under CSS net instead of 4. I cut myself to 13.3 the following day. However when I went up to the course at the weekend and the adjustments had been posted I was only cut 1.2 meaning my playing handicap is 14 not 13.

We have a medal again this Saturday am I right to just accept the handicap adjustment my club has allocated and play off 14 on Saturday?

You were 4 shots better than CSS, so you get cut 1.2 in total, I dunno how or why you seem to think rule 19.8 applies, but afaik your club has it spot on, but if you still have doubts then contact your club handicapp sec.

If it was me, I'd give a quick call to the h'cap seceratary well in advance of the upcoming Medal.

Presumably you get a shot on the hole so any disasters are reduced down to a nett double bogey under 19.8
A double bogey on a par 5 is a 7 so if you receive a shot on the hole a nett double bogey is an 8

Cheers that makes sense it was index 3 so a nett db would have been 8 and no adjustment.

Agreed. Afaik it's always Nett adjustment. Otherwise everybody would be allocated double-bogey which wouldn't be fair.
