I'd much prefer a freezeout to the current format. 15k is a more than decent starting stacking given the levels and timeframe. Like the sound of that a lot :pac:

    12. Number of re-buys allowed and over what time frame/blind levels: 1 only until end of level 6

    So it's a freezout now then ? Preferred the re-buy option.:D

Will defo be up for this Paul will be interesting to see how it goes as a freezeout it should defo make a difference to the finishing time anyway. Good to see you trying different things to make the tournament even better. Best of luck to Nicky I was talking to him Friday night, I hope he wins all round him over there :)

Rebuy is better. At least if you are not good enough to accumulate chips you can still buy them :)

Just some answers to questions that I have been asked about The Bruce Poker Tour in Celbridge tomorrow night.

    1. Beer : We are currently not serving alcahol in the club. In saying that we are directly above two pubs that serve until 12.30 a.m and as long as it doesn't get out of hand we will let players bring drinks into the club from downstairs. Also we will supply complimentary bottled beer at the break with food.

    2. I think the food at this point will be Indian, very good Indian food in Celbridge. It will be a help yourself buffet. We might also have some chineese as well. Will break the floors seperatley just better with logistics. (we will have a veggie dish as well)

    3. There is free parking directly behind the club and you can enter through the rear door.
(go through the arch at the Mucky Duck Pub for car park entrance.

    4. Smoking area is downstairs at the rear entrance.

    5. We will have Black Jack and Roulette on the night. Small stakes 5-50 on the Black Jack and €10 max on the number on roulette.

    6. You will need to be a member of the club to play. Its free and quick. Fill out a form show us some I.D and get your picture taken.

    7. There will be cash action all night and we will use the usual Bruce Poker Tour rake structure. There will be 1/2 and 2/5 holdem and Omaha cash action. I think its 5% capped at €20 but please check the thread.

    8. There will be complimentary soft and hot drinks all night and food after the break until the club closes.

For directions or information please check our web-site

    http://www.thepokerroomcelbridge.com

Really looking forward to the event Bruce put on a good show.

    Hi Guys,

As you know this has changed to a freezeout event. Our next event is in the Radisson in Athlone next Friday the 26th. The game in the Radisson will be back to the old rebuy structure and we will be looking for feedback from both events, we will then make a decision on the future structure of the tour. As it is impossible to please everybody we need to know your feedback to try and please the majority of our players.

You can buy in up to the first 4 levels to a stack that will be blinded out.

I imagine there'll be tickets to the Waterford open same as in the Red Cow. Was the WAD event tickets in Maynooth the previous game.

Can i take it by 'optional entry' into other events you can take the cash instead? As i understood it previously the tickets were presented as part of the overall payout and not optional.

Sure i plan to bubble this anyway so all pointless for me ;)

Well it depends on the prizepool, we have tickets for the Waterford Masters that we will might give to first place and might run satellites for. Its really dependent on the interest from the players.
Sorry if we are a bit slow replying as we are setting up for tonight.

Just out of this around 12th. Played a rocky short-stack for 3-4 hours before cracking and getting agro with any ace (and a monster 93o from the small blind) which gave me plenty of highs and lows for the last hour. 1st time it was a freezeout and not really gonna make a judgement on it - happy enough with the stacks and first time the blinds were seriously impacting play was 1am. Was happy with the old format too tho.

Overlay of €750 i think and was well run by John, Ross and co.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 631 ✭✭✭gman127

74 runners last night gave a small overlay which Bruce Poker made up.

I think most people were happy with the freezeout format and it got the game wrapped up by 6am, including alot of levels paused and extended.

    And now the Results:

The original payout was for 8 places but when final table was reached a deal was made to give 9th and 10th their money back.

    10th: €150 Declan Connolly
    9th: €150 Padraig Byrne
    8th: €175 Gary Fields

The next one was a first for me. Both 6th and 7th were knocked out in the same hand with the exact same amount of chips!!

6th and 7th:€365 each Robert Shanley and Pauric Kelly (A Bruce Poker.com Freeroll Winner!)

    5th: €755 John Noonan
    4th: €1105 Eddie Gleeson

Finally there was a split 3 ways with the ticket going to the chip leader I think: €2155 each Adrian Kelly, Oliver Scully and Eddie Kavanagh got the Waterford Masters ticket aswell.

On behalf of the Poker Room Celbridge I would like to thank on players who played last night and are looking forward to the next one

great torney i thought apart from the whole window thing ha:rolleyes:
freezeout is def way to go as rebuy is just messy and "craic" poker!! me thinks.. maby just add a few more levels and reduce the antes wen they come in?
