Some of you may have noticed we were down for maintenance last Monday and Tuesday. We were changing Poker network to the Cake Poker Network and are pleased to say the changeover is now completed and was a big success. Cake Network is one of the fastest growing worldwide Networks, now with Lee Jones at the helm we will be expecting even more improvements in the next months. You may now resume play on Bruce Poker.com once you have downloaded our new software, the automatic download will overwrite the previous BrucePoker software on your computer. Upgrade by clicking the download button on our homepage or by clicking here.
Here are some screenshots of our new poker client.

Hmmmm, tricky one, if only there was customer support you could email giving your name, address or anything and then they could tell you your user name. :)

Setup a new a/c. They always win.

    Yup.

Have been playing on Cake for the last while. The software has some great features, but they seem to have got some of the basics horribly, horribly wrong. Multi-tabling can be a pain given the software tends to crash when you load up more than 5 tables. I have found it to be one of the softer sites though, although SNG traffic is quite poor with only games <$6 running with any decent frequency.

The absence of tracking software and the ability to change your screename is ****ing fantastic for Tag-fish like myself though!

Id find it strange also but surely it would be a huge benefit to not have tons of 14/10 rakeback grinders playing 50 tables and for nobody to have any numbers on you. I presume the place is donk city.

If you think about it in a reverso way i am not sure it hasn't worked the other way up until now.

Within the poker community Cake has been mainly known for not letting players use huds and being able to change your name weekly. I don't think your average bad player wasn't the one actively seeking out a site like this but more your decent 4/6 table grinder that thought it would be a good move to avoid the huge army of hud playing nits.

I know cake is becoming more well known but for most casual players that log on to play poker it wouldn't be the first place i would have thought many of them log on to play. The introduction of more skins moving to the network and in particular places like Brucepoker with sportbooks attached should hopefully start to change this.

Yeah I guess it's tough to know, instead of playing HUDfish, you're playing thinking players? Or is it a case that a lot of strong players won't play at Cake because they won't disgard there HUD?

I guess the only way to find out whether it's for you or not is to give it a shot. I think I'm definitely gonna give it a shot.

As an afterthought I have to say fair play to Cake. By not allowing 3rd party software, there cutting out ARMIES of Hud players who play 8+ tables, and thus generate the most rake.

Do you have to pay the $50 to get the hand convertor?

    http://cakehandconverter.com/

This is the one I found but it appears it costs $50 for this programme as the demo doesnt convert all hands. Is it worth it? What do cake players generally do to keep their records in Holdem Manager?

the setup on cake would actually be benificial to multitabling nits, although they probably wouldnt realise it.

anyone know what the 10/20 nl traffic is like on the site?

Theres plenty of rooms on cake network who give both the 33%rakeback
and 600 doll sign up and a rake race thrown in too
unlike other networks multi tabling not so easy on cake so even medium rakers can place in these races.
Doyles room who i last had a account with on tribeca have moved to cake.

Unless bruce offer 33% rake and asign up not deducted including processing fees which most cake skins do id stay clear.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 955 ✭✭✭sickpuppy

On cake now Robin 1 3 6 nl game and only 3 full 5 10 6 max games nothing but hu from 8 16 up
much busier in american evening quiet in irish evening.

Talking to Paul at the gjp tourney, he said he they'll be doing rakeback. 33% min , I think he said. Then depends on what you play. So i'll be moving my business from cake to bruce, prefer to give business to an Irish company.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 955 ✭✭✭sickpuppy

If bruce offered what others do and it suited id have no problems playing on Bruce
cake says your only allowed one rakeback account on the network i had my red star poker account closed as i had 2 accounts ill ask Paul and see what he says .
Id sooner give my rake to an irish provider too.
