Got asked to come in for a job interview at mcdonald's on wednesday but I don't know what it's going to be like, I'm 17 and this is my 1st ever job interview so i'm a bit confused. Does anyone know what type of questions they might ask me? oh and i don't know what to wear either, i'm thinking of wear a navy t-shirt, white sneakers and dark jeans (not baggy just normal straight jeans) I don't think I have any slacks or ties and the only shoes I have are the shoes I wear to school, but they are quite dirty.

any positive and honest help would be great, thanks!! :)

without sounding patronising, you should wear a shirt and slacks. The types of interviewees going for this type of job are alot different to what has been the norm.

    But questions: prepare answers to

why do you want this job?
    what strengths you have?
    what weaknesses you have?
do you work well as part of a team?

I worked for McDonalds years ago and found its the team work they are intrested in .

the best thing to say is that you have always set high standards in you life and that you play team sports . they will like that. To them its all about everyone working together rather then a single person.

first off congratulations on getting an interview, i'ts hard these days to even get one

definitely get yourself some new clothes, a nice shirt and tie and slacks are safe bets
you may even see the other candidates in suits, don't let that sway you
as stated they will ask you about how you work well in a team
they may ask you situational questions, such as how you would deal with a specific difficult customer so try and think of other examples and work out responses
do your homework, find out about McDonalds and about the area that you will be working in
find out how long it will take you to get to the interview so you won't be late
make sure you shake hands with the interviewers on entrance and exit and thank them for their time

    and best of luck

Oh, always keep in mind the nature of the job you are going for. You will be in charge of dealing with food and the public.

Look well, look clean, shave, cut hair. No strong aftershave or jewellery.
Smile, smile, smile. But not in a creepy way. Just be very pleasant, you want to get the point across that you are easy to get on with, outgoing, but not a mad eegit.

They call their staff members team members and the supes are called team leaders so I'd say loners are not in the picture.
Come across all nice to people and friendly and you'll do well. Being nice to children and babies is a must. Being even nicer to their parents is even more important.
From what I can gather attention to detail and and doing things a standard way is a must. Everything is measured mechanically, such as sauces and there is a standard way of cooking everything, although customers can hold off on items in a grill order.
Since McDonalds do not stay open late you are spared the hassles and dangers of working on the after-pub trade which is a great source of joy and pleasure to most takeaway staff........................
Inner city McDonalds and most other inner city catering places can have occasional trouble with drugs being used and needles found etc in the toilets so proper training in the handling and disposal of suspect sharp objects is a must.
Also proper first aid in the event of cooker and frier burns is a must. Don't tackle an oil fire on your own and don't use water on it................
Mop up any spills immediately, especially in the public area as they will walk into anything and are heedless of danger a lot of the time.
If you stick to keeping your workplace clean and the queues short their is no other hassles I can think of.
