I just had a flick over to this website to see what was going on. I am wondering if anyone has watched the first couple of races and if they were any good?

I see the car is a Williams designed car complying with the 2005 F1 safety regulations. The engine is an Audi 1.8 litre turbo engine with 400bhp and a boost button!

What I do notice is there are 25 drivers. Now I've heard of Andy Soucek from GP2 racing. There are two drivers which obviously got into the sport because of their father being ex-F1 racers, Alex Brundle and Henry Surtees.

I also notice there is a female competitor, Natasha Gachnang.

    Care to explain why?

    Not really.
    But.
Sounds like a junior Lewis Hamilton. ( full of his own importance ) ;)

the next F2 race is at Brno (in Czech Rep. I think) on 19-21 June - the same weekend as the F1 British Grand Prix. Now to me thats seems a little daft, surely they would put it on alternate weekends to get some interest in it. I like motorsport, but I couldn't watch F1, GP2 and F2 all on one weekend!

What I do see that is on this weekend is the Renault world series - Only recognisable driver is Nigel Mansell - no wait, it's Greg Mansell, Nigel's son.

The only way you get to drive in these series is if you are the son of a world champion or have 4million quid to spare and that's just for one year!!!

watched the race from valencia. The racing was good but the cars look and sound like glorified formula palmer audi cars (probably because the are). Just not a fan of pissy 2l engines (even if they do produce 400bhp). I don't like that its a one make series as well.

I didn't get to see the F2 race on the weekend but was very sorry to read that Henry Surtees suffered injuries from an accident which has claimed his life...not something any of us motorsport fans want ever hear about or wish on any driver. May he rest in peace.
