Monitor stuck in sleep?

Had left the pc for awhile, and the screen is set to power off after certain time. Normally on return touch the mouse the screen powers up, but this time it didn't? If i turn the monitor off and back on, it displays everything for a second, and then returns to black/off sleep screen. I have second monitor connected and…

If i turn the monitor off and back on, it displays everything for a second, and then returns to black/off sleep screen. I have second monitor connected and working fine as part of a 2 screen set up. I also set the power settings for the monitor to be never turned off but its still staying the same.

Any ideas?

You're in Japan? - Cool. I might have the chance to go there soon too. Anyway, you HAVE tried to just restart the computer, right?
