DS Lite repair recommendation

    Hi all,

My son has a 2 year old DS Lite and the left rear button (underneath the left hinge) is broken. It's out of warranty so my question is does anyone know how much it will cost to get this repaired (assuming it's a common enough failure with a standard fix) and where I can have the job done?

I live in south Dublin and don't want to go anywhere near Smyths toys in Carrickmines!!

    Ben

    Hi Ben,

Would it possible to get a picture of the damage? Its the button that is broken?

Witnessmenow, there's nothing to see. The button just stopped working, there's no psychial damage to it. Possibly a contact point has become worn or a a connection has become loose internally.

If its a common problem PM me a quote for fixing it including shipping as I see you're based in Athlone and I'm in Dublin.

I have a similar problem with my DS except in my case,it's the hinge that's cracked. It makes the DS feel loose and is fairly annoying.Does anyone know how much such a problem would cost to get fixed or where it could be repaired?I'm based in Clare btw.

My sons DS was dropped on the ground the other day anD as a result the touch screen cracked and has very limited use. Can this be repaired or is it going to have to be replaced.

It would have to be replaced.

PM Witnessmenow or email this crowd for a quote

    Maestro,

Is it the video display of the touch screen or the touch screen its self? Basically is the picture ok on it or is there a blob of what looks like black ink?

This is going to sound strange but try blowing into the button, I had my DSLite trigger buttons (i.e. the buttons behind the screen) give up on me, googled it and this was the solution and it worked :o
