Ps3 and blue ray

    sorry if it's in the wrong forum.....
    I got a ps3 from a mate of mine second hand. I was looking to play some blue ray disks in it, when I put them in and press play it says "To play this BD, you must renew the encryption key. Perform a system software update to renew the encryption key" I have a laptop and Im useing 3G voda phone (dial up) can ayone put me in the right direction before I f**k this thing out the window

    CAn you not just perform a system update? Should be automatic if you re online connected.

    Otherwise I don't know.

    I guess you could set it up using internet connection sharing the same way as the 360... Tis still a bit of a pain in the hole though tbh;

    Some games include a recent system update on the disc, so I guess you could always rent one of those... (not a clue which one would have a recent update)

    Or bring it round to a mate's place who has wireless internet and update it there...

    Your on mobile broadband so you need to update the ps3 by usb stick this link will tell you how

    The current version is 2.76

    To check the version of your system software, go to (Settings) > (System Settings) > [System Information]. The information is shown in the [System Software] field.
