I can't believe we've not had a thread on this yet! Who do you think's going to win?

I'm going Cadel, with a dark horse bet on Dan Martin :)

would love to see Dan Martin take this but I think he will get the jersey in the TDF for the youngest rider. Thats if he is riding the TDF- not to sure

hmm. reckon the top three will scrap it out to the end. so either evans, contador or valverde, contador takin the win in the end. however my outisde bet is nibali.

I wouldn't like to see Contador win this, you know the old saying 'going well in the dauphine, sh*te in the tour'

Roche has done well with his placing in the prologue, I'd be tipping him for a stage, although rumour is Boonen is gunning to get a stage as well.

As for Martin, it depends on really what his plan is, if he's riding this for fitness or for racing - I think the mountain stages will suit him better than the tour of catalonia, but does he want to bust his balls in this and be over stretched for the tour ?

I think Dan the man is Fit coming 2nd overall to Valverde kinda proves that ...
    :D
So lets hope his form continues a and he Wins his first major stage race next week !!!

I have him as a dark horse as he's not guaranteed to be in the tour team yet, and a good showing here would guarantee that. He was also 40/1 on paddy power, so I stuck a tenner each way on him, so lets get on the podium Dan! :)

Fit and being at 100% before a Tour are two differing things, no one goes into the Tour at 100% peak, they use the first week to polish up that final bit, hence where the old saying I mentioned comes from.

    Anyways
Today's flat stage was nearly taken by Millar, Boonen launched his sprint far too early - Nicholas Roche did very well finishing 6th on the stage in a good bunch gallop

You as said Junior, is he riding for fitness or racing ???.... my point is HE IS RACING hence 2nd PLACE !
Since you know it all you tell us what he is doing !! Roche did well 6th place I wonder if he is riding for a laugh or for the money ?!?!

I'll tell you what they are doing: THEY are both trying to secure places for the tour on their respective Teams .. but then again Junior you're going to tell me that in your next post !

    Jayus !

Is that for all riders, or just for the folk who have a chance of winning the tour? I don't think DM is gonna win TDF this year :)

Anyone else think that putting 2 minutes into Contador et al on a long climb is just about the stupidest thing a rider could do if he's caught up in a blood doping story? What am supposed to be thinking right now?

Where has the innocence gone ..,, ???
Didn't Evans come out saying that everyone is not at this for winning ... some are just prepping for the tour and that Contador wasn't contributing to the chase ....

    16:30 CEST
Pierrick Fédrigo (Bbox Bouygues Telecom) takes the win.

    Anyone pick him ?????

Wow that was some aggressive riding by Evans. Hope he carries it thro to the Tour. Great finish
