There's a shop in Dublin who sell Storm cases which are similar.

Could try Barker Photographic too who I think stock Peli Cases

Storm are more expensive though (I think).

Ryan Mills (www.intershoot.co.uk) does them from Omagh.

depends what you want, both storm and peli have very wide ranges.

I paid around 150 for my 1550, which should suit most photographers.

    Hey,

If you're in dublin you can try the Great Outdoors watersports section or I-canoe.ie; Cork has MDAC.ie (munster dive and canoe). I've used "sea-horse" cases for a few years with good results, these cases are a bit less expensive than pelican cases. I've also used watershed dry-bags like these:
http://www.nrsweb.com/shop/product_list.asp?deptid=1632 you can put a liner in them to pad them and they're easier to fit into tight spaces (which mighn't be a problem if you're not kayaking ;) )

the guy I mentioned charged a tenner (stg), but from his website he may no longer be doing them.

    i have 2 storm cases

a smaller ne with wheeel for carry on, with foam dividers etc

and a trunk one that holds 2 24" monitors on wheels

they are better than the peli ones and the catches dont break your knuckles opening them

I got mine off this guy on ebay, at the time he was the cheapest by a good bit.
He also has "Best Offer" set up on most of his auctions I think I offered about 15 less then the price and he accepted.

To be honest though, its probably best to point out that each time a Storm v Peli debate comes up it turns out that:

Some people buy Storm, swear by them and have never had a problem.
Some people buy Peli, swear by them and have never had a problem.

Both are great cases, its perosonal preference really. However, I think the storm shop offers custom cutting of the foam, whereas with a Peli its hours of fun with a stanley knife and a magic marker.

the sea horse cases come with pre perforated foam, you just push out the bits you don't want. It's kinda like popping-bubble-wrap-type fun

So do the Pelican cases I have bought, they call it pick-N- pluck foam I believe.

eBay is a good place to buy Pelican cases, as with most things.

AFAIK Conns Cameras have a limited stock of Peli cases and can order them in if you they don't have what your looking for.

I also have a Storm case and find it brilliant. Great for sitting/standing on, when needed. Keeps all my gear safe too.

    Well worth investing in.

ah while price is a consideration, a good protective case is priceless have you seen paddy's case after the van drove over it.

Storm and Peli are similar in price, but I thought the Peli was more expensive.

    Still, worth investing in.

Neither a storm nor peli case would have broken there.

    Thanks for the help lads.

In the end I went for Barker in cork, after the slight problem of not being able to see their shop, they have sorted me out with what i'm looking for.

The dive shop in cork does sea horse but can order in peli cases, great lad to deal with.

And having looked into it, storm appear massivly over priced and the sea horses ones seem less unbreakable but should be grand for most things.

    Again Thanks
