    Released: April 1998

What can I say that hasn't been said before? Sublime. And the fact it showcases the heavenly vocals of Cocteau Twins' Liz Fraser is, for me, the cherry on top.

'Teardrop' will forever remind me of 2nd year in college!

Still sounds fresh today 11 years later

    Group Four is my favourite

To me, whilst good in parts, this was the beginning of a decline in Massive Attack output. They haven't released anything of note in quite a while now.

Angel is my favourite track - an absolute beautiful tune. Teardroop is also class. Great tunage throughout though, class album!

Hmmm... I suppose. But I only think Mezzanine is slightly less good than Blue Lines and Protection.

    Come off it!

Blue lines leaves it in the h'penny place..

granted there's one or two great tracks on mezz but blue lines is start to finish 45 minutes of musical bliss with no fillers and no nonsense.

not to mention it holds IMO one of the best songs "eva"

    worlds apart, worlds apart.

Yup. If you could reverse the order in which Massive Attack released their albums, I'd be salivating at the prospect of a new one. Now, I'm not really arsed. 'Blue Lines' was their apotheosis but 'Protection' was a wonderful follow-up record.

Mezzanine is the one MA album that I find myself coming back to more and more over the last few years. I think it has a more dark and timeless sound than both Blue Lines and Protection. I just feel the other two sounds slightly dated.

It's all a matter of taste and opinion at the end of the day.

As for 100th Window.. it's always considered more of a Del Naja solo album than a 'Massive Attack' album.

Just watched Reeling In The Years 1998 - the background music for footage of the Omagh atrocity was Teardrop. :(
