    Hi,

I'm just wondering does anyone on here live in these apartments, I'm hoping to be a first year drama student next year and found them on collegecribs, have a few questions.

    a) Do they take first years?

    b) What bills are covered in rent and what ones aren't?

    c) Is the bus near it reliable enough?

    Much thanks,

    LMP

If your going to UCC then consider its a good 30-40min walk to the college campus, Iv heard fairly bad stories about the place as regards getting your security deposit back and if any problemns like plumbing arise it takes ages to get fixed!

Hey. I lived there last year. Its a good trek from college to the place and can be especially away from the action if you have friends living around the college campus. As for the bills everything was included in the rent i.e. electricity, refuse, internet (which was terribly unreliable and was broke down more often than not) tv etc. Also when I was there there was no caretaker in the place and ended up locked out of the complex on 3 seperate occassions with nobody to contact cos my fob wouldnt work on the door (which was kinda a big problem at 2 in the morning!!!) Finally and most frustrating was how long it took to get my deposit back....it was like 4 whole months before I finally got my cheque and that was after I had called into their offices on numerous occassions.

My advice would be to try get somewhere closer to the campus, especially being a first year. Arcadia hall is too far in the middle of nowhere and far too unreliable!!!

    Try here: http://www.ucc.ie/services/propertyManager/house_search/

Mainly summer places advertised at the moment but closer to college starting again you will see ads for houses for term time. Anyway living in a house is way better than living in an apartment complex which can have loads of rules and such!!!

PS: Enjoy UCC its brilliant, dont waste a day of college life :D
