SKY HD Question

    I have a problem with SKY 1 HD everytime The Simpsons or Futurama is on the screen on my 50" Plasma Shortens - I have tried everything any suggestions - it only seems to be with these 2 progs on SKY1 HD??

    Shortens in which way?
    You mean black bars at the sides?
    This is perfectly normal as these shows are shot (and broadcast) in 4:3 aspect ratio.

    You can widen the image to fit the screen but it will be squashed downwards.
    I recommend just living with it.
    If your tv is set to "letterbox" mode, it should automatically adjust to the right aspect ratio.

    Not on Sky HD it won't, the 4:3 shows are actually broadcast in 16:9 but with black bars at the side.

    OP, why would you want to watch a stretched 4:3 broadcast anyway?

    Thats because they are broacast that way. The newest episodes of the simpsons are now made in 16:9 format but all the rest and all of futurama is in 4:3 so you are just watching it the way it is intended to be watched.
