Will 4oD work successfully with 3 prepay broadband?

I get sound but seems too slow to view properly - just wondering if it could be a peak time usage issue or something.

You need real broadband and a large cap for that kind of stuff!
Can you play any of the "so called" HD videos on YouTube, or even ordinary Youtube? (they are not even ordinary TV resolution, not HD at all, but do need more download speed).

go to www.speedtest.net and run test a few times to Dublin server.

Live? No, not a chance (too slow for the most part, but the huge variation in ping times, and significant packet loss will make for an ugly live TV viewing experience. Same for any 3G network. If you're lucky in that you're the only person using a specific HSDPA cell, you might be able to view it with just the odd gap.. but that amount of luck is up there with winning the lotto).

4oD download? Yes, but watch your cap!

    Thanks folks for the information.

Just wanted to watch one or two programs I missed. They are not available for download only streaming.

Nope, 4oD is definitely available to UK and Ireland.
The Catch Up via their website service (i.e. not downloading and using the 4oD application) has recently being downgraded to the UK only.

Are you sure about that? I used to watch the odd thing on it but recently I tried to and was blocked out

Can I watch 4oD Catch-Up in another country?
Rights agreements mean that our 4oD Catch-Up service is only available in the UK. Even if you are a citizen of the UK you cannot access the service from abroad.

There was an upgrade recently that caused some errors but 4oD the application is definitely available to UK and Ireland. http://www.channel4.com/4od/how2use4od.html

I managed to watch some ER this morning (but as other folk mentioned it seems you really need 'proper' broadband for consistently decent viewing).

Using this application you can see some shows shown on C4 E4 and More4 within the last 30 days along with other older shows they have the rights to. The Catch Up that your link refers to (link) is where you don't download the application and want to use/view Catch Up directly from the Channel 4 website.

Bad news - Channel 4 is to close the download version of 4OD (which had been available in Ireland), and transfer all content to the online version (not available in Ireland)
