    Hi guys,
my MBPs Magsafe adapter is after blowing completely, and I need a new one.
Only place I could find in town (now that Spectra Grafton St. are gone) was PC World, which were selling them for a scandalous €109! (RRP: €89)

I've seen lots of cheap ones (<€40) on eBay, but can they be trusted? Is there anywhere that'll sell me a reputable Magsafe for RRP or less?

Have you rung any of the main repair centres for quotes? Where are you located? If in Dublin you could try Dectek or Mactivate. Bondi group is a small business that might be able to give you a better quote (again, Dublin city centre) http://bondigroup.ie/BondiGroup/Home.html

Or try any stores in the list from apple. http://www.apple.com/ie/buy/locator/

I agree about ebay - stay away from power cords there. At best those will last you two weeks and cause a lot of hasse! :p

News to me too, but I never actually witnessed someone making a purchase there before so it doesn't come as much of a surprise. I assume the Dundrum store is still there...

Anyway, PC World (airside, jervis) have "official" Apple stands, so they should be charging Apple.ie prices - if it's more make them aware of it & they should be able to discount for you.

I got an ebay one for my macbook from seller: fasttracksss about a year ago and still going strong, actually better built than the apple one (cable split and frayed around the rubber seal on the mains end) !!! only thing missing is the apple logo.

They only charge about 5 eu for shipping too and it arrived in about 3 w/days
