    Hi all,
I was just trying to think to myself the movies that I ll buy on Blu ray whether I have them on DVD or not.

Have The Dark Knight, Rambo and 300 and think they are amazing.

Theres a lot of films that are on Bluray that have little or no special effects that I just can't see the point of buying.

Saving private Ryan will be definitely bought. Watched this on TV the other night and it looks amazing. Lord of the rings, Matrix Trilogy and probably everything from Pixar but thats just me :D

But I'd love to here some opinions that you guys think would be good additions.

If you like concerts on dvd check these out

    The Cure Trilogy
    Queen rock Montreal
    Styx One with everything.
    Hope this helps.

    pulp fiction!! (come on quentin)

I was thinking about this, while the sound quality improvement would ad extra depth to scenes (eg: the 'What does Marcellus Wallace look like?'), I wonder would having crystal clear picture take away from the 'pulp' element of the visual style...

they had a single disc blu ray out a while ago, and im telling ya man i saw certain screen shots from it, and the heroin injection scene is something else, and come on who doesnt want to see john travolta doin the twist in high def?! :D

and you know quentin, he wont let anything take away from what he created, itll be done well!

To be honest, anticipating watching more documentaries come out on Blur Ray as opposed to films. Been watching lot of documentaries on HD on Discovery channel (esp space docs) etc...quality jazz

Some very good titles mentioned so far on the thread,
but for me, the top of the list has to be Platoon. I am not sure if it is available yet on Blu ray but either way I can't wait to see it.

Will be getting a BluRay player this summer, looking forward to getting Predator and Terminator 2. Other than that I'd love to see the original and prequel trilogies of star wars on bluray. I'll also be getting every Michael Mann film that ever comes out on BluRay, Collateral should look fantastic.

Speaking of Star Wars, Should we be worried that some films may have there old or in some cases badly done specially effects brought into the spot light.

I know some films can only be made better but I guess time will tell.

Yeah Band Of Brothers on Blu ray is only €30 on Play. : )

I'm a massive fan of the Disney/Pixar films, so Toy Story 1/2 , Cars , The Incredible's will be brilliant, in my opinion with all the different colours..

But one Blue Ray out soon which I'm really looking forward too (along with all the 80's/90's generation ppl) is Ghostbusters :)

Does everyone who releases on blu-ray have to give money to sony

Hopefully by the time Michael Mann finishes publicising his new film Public Enemies he can get to work on transfering some of his movies to blu ray. Although he will probably have started filming Frankie Machine by then so we could be waiting a while if he wants a hands on roll in the process.

Both are pretty disappointing unfortunately. Predator is fairly grainy with not much fine detail, and T2 is long overdue a proper remaster.

    I got a player in January. I just counted my disks & somehow I've amassed 57 !!!

I have no idea how I got that many. I have a lot of animation (the pixar ones are just georgous). Not so big on the movies. I don't have the time to watch them, although I picked up speed last week & put on the start of it to check out the sound & my wife said would I not hold it until the weekend & we'll sit down & watch it together... I think it would be a case of selling it on then because unless it was Star Wars or LOTR etc, I don't think it would stand up to repeat viewing. I had an opportunity to pick up the matrix trilogy last week for €30 & I passed on it.

I need to watch a load & then sell them on.

Anyway, the ones I'm most looking forward to are "Back To The Future" trilogy, "LOTR" trilogy (not a huge fan but wouldn't mind seeing them HD), Star Wars (both sets).

How well this movie has stood the test of time.

I'd quite new to the BlueRay world but does a movie not need to be filmed in BluRay/HD to be true BlueRay?

Cars is already out (& georgous).

Toystory 1 & 2 are getting revivals in cinema end of this year/early next to preface 3 (3D) which is out in a year so I'd expect them on BD around the time of TS3's cinema release.

I've been recently converted to the BluRay religion, ain't no goin' back :D

Went on a wee spending spree for a few titles, Transformers seems like it was supposed to be seen in HD, you can actually see what's going on. Dark Knight and I Am Legend do the biz too and Sin City is mesmerizing.

Watching King Kong now, never liked the movie but it sure looks good in high def!

There's a few more I want to get, so this thread has been a good read to steer me in a general direction. Defo want some Pixars in the collection.

To anyone still using DVD's....come over to the dark side.
