Pheasant eggs

I was going into my field (only have one) today when I noticed my old mongrel was playing with a little ball. One closer inspection the little ball was a pheasant egg, nearby was another egg and my better half collared our guilty looking labrador and found another egg in her mouth. It seems the lab was making trips into a nettle patch and coming out with one egg at a time. We found the nest within ten feet of our greenhouse, it still had thirten eggs. The dogs are now confined to barracks and hope the pheasant has luck with the rest.
