Looking at the scoring today and a few very high numbers with a 103 being the worst of it... The lowest was 75 so looks like the weather played a big factor....

So big players quite a bit behind so will be a interesting day tomorrow...

Don't the top 64 qualify for the matchplay stages? The cream usually comes to the top mostly so expect most of them to cruise through.

Taking a long shot and saying Robbie Cannon to be there or there abouts..

He apparently is hitting the ball great and just needs the putter to start working..

But these guys are supposed to be the best in Ireland and Ireland is current european and home international champs so we must have alot of talented guys so i like to see them struggle its what most of us have to do normally!;)

Cutler is a worthy favourite, don't think O'Malley is firing on all cylinders this year so far. Nicky grant has consistently put in too many good rounds over the past couple of years not to win something big in my opinion!

Scoring on day 2 a good bit better. 68 from Michael Durcan of Rosses Point. He is coached by my local pro and from watching him hit balls recently the 68 is no surprise. Unfortunately He didnt make it out of the 1st matchplay round but thats golf.

Regular poster Gorfield has a very tough 2nd round match and it will be a fantastic result if he gets through it.

Rory McNamara is through to rnd 2 and seems to be playing quite well lately.
Pat Murray V Robbie Cannon could be a very good match to watch.
Eoin Arthurs and Dara Lernihan also in the 2nd Round so most of the big names are through so far.

The weather conditions in the North West were perfect for Golf when I was leaving this morning and I suspect that this remained the case.
