Depends. If it was a weekday I'd just assume he'd come straight from work. I'd think it was a bit strange on a Saturday. Also, it depends if he wears it as a suit. If he takes the jacket and tie off and opens the top buttons then I wouldn't think it was anything strange.

I wouldn't! What's wrong with suits? Can always take off the jacket.

No, suits can be sexy on guys!!!:)

Nightclubs are not the place for suits, unless its a work thing and your surrounded by guys in suits you'd look like a tool. Loose the tie before you get in and the jacket as soon as you do.

One of my mates tried to go out wearing a suit recently. We had the taxi driver make a detour to his house so he could get changed.

If you go into a normal night club wearing a suit you will look like a bit of a tool. Besides, as a guy, I'd suggest it would attract a lot of negative attention from other lads.

suit jacket with jeans is alright but a whole suit?!

bit overdone for a nightclub

Jackets are ok, but you need to be able to pull em off. Not everyone can.

Joe made a good point about attention, look at it this way do you really want to give off the impression that your in a suit and tie type of lifestyle. As soon as the girls find out your not (they can tell very quick) they'll say "if this guy wants to pretend he has money then who are we to say don't". In other words you'll attract gold diggers.

Slacks and shirt at most, a suit going to a nightclub is a no-no to me tbh. I'm more of a polo, jeans and canvas shoes (I'm not a fan but hate wearing shoes).

No laughing in Galway, generally means they've popped in after a wedding. And I love suits.

Never wear a suit to a nightclub. It won't look as good as it does in your head, somebody will ultimately make it their goal to bump into you pint in hand, and you'll look completely out of place.

This is coming from a man who loves to wear a good suit, 'We are the, We are the, We are the mods' and all that. A nice slim-fit suit looks the business- just consider if it'll look the business where you're heading to, or if you've look lost.

u create an impression by wearing a suit....

people will think your either attention seeking, up yourself or have loads of money.... is that the kinda thing you want people to think?? or to be attracted to??

i also agree with what someone said about guys spilling drinks on your suit...

    Fvck what people think

I'm just out for a good night

I wear a suit to town mainly for birthdays, but random nights now and again

But I dont wear a tie, and leave me jacket in the cloak room

Back in the day, I would frequently wear a suit to a club (no tie though, couple of buttons undone). Highly successful strategy for attracting attention and misleading girls into thinking you're loaded.

I know a guy who wouldn't wear a suit to clubs because of the attention it would get him. He was actually rich, and he found it all too much.

    Case closed.

Then why post this topic? Honestly, you will look like a try-hard spanner in a suit, wear a slim fitted shirt and slacks and hopefully you'll stick out in a good way

It's really down to what club you are going too.
I always wear suits but in the clubs that I attend the suited man is the norm rather then the exception. A jazz club for example will have a lot of well heeled men and glamorously dressed women in attendance. A dance club filled with bearly legal girls and white sock wearing boys might not be the best place to wear your wool 3 piece.
I do notice however that when dressed sharp there is a much more flattering level of attention then dressing casualy. This is true of everywhere we go be it pubs, clubs, restraunts or even just walking along the streets.
I only wish I'd learnt long ago when I was young enough to take advantage that being 'suited & booted' is magnificent way to gain womens attention.
Don't be a sheep in sheeps clothing, be a wolf in wolfs clothing, wear the suit and wear it well. That means with real shoes not trainers. With a tie and a shirt that fits your neck.
Anything less then the full ensamble makes it look like you are going straight from work and can't be arsed to make an effort and so the suit will have no impact, or even worse a detremental effect.

I may be too old to offer advice to the youngsters but I maintain that it's never too early to learn to dress well and that dressing well will always pay dividends.

    I'm older than Minecraft goats.
