lightweight trainer / racing flats

i'm really hoping someone can help me out here.

i'm training for the DCM (my second marathon), doing between 40 - 55 miles per week. 95% of this is done on the road, the balance is intervals on a track. I'm medium height and build, not really prone to injury - i get the odd knee niggle - but this is most likely from poor stretching than anything else.

i'm currently using a combination of kayano 15 / brooks adrenaline gts 9 for my training and for shorter road races. I have recently acquired custom orthotics as well (for overpronation). I'm finding the combination of support trainer and orthotic heavy (and probably over supported), especially when doing races and / or speed work.

What to do? Should i keep training in what i have and buy racing flats for just racing in (up to 1/2 marathon), and if so should i wear these with or without the orthotics? Should i replace my existing runners with lightweights (which ones?) and use these for training and for racing??

thanks for any help you can give...
