Transporting hurls abroad

    Hey,

I'm heading off to the states for a year and want to bring out my hurl or maybe two. There's not a hope of it fitting in the bag and I have a bit of travelling before hand for a few weeks so not sure about lugging it all the way as some oversize luggage. Anyone any ideas on the best way to get it out there?

Would it get broke if I shipped it and would it cost me a small fortune?

    Thanks.

Your best bet would probably be to ring the airline you're flying with and ask them. It's pretty much the same as people travelling with guitars etc. One of my friends brought his hurl to the US with him last year anyway, so it definitely can be done. I'll ask him how he managed it and get back to you.

You can get a hurley bag on the GPA website http://www.clubenergise.ie/inside_pages/shop/details.asp?id=5.

I saw another one elsewhere but can't find it

Shouldn't be no different to Golf clubs I'd imagine! (although they always cost extra).

Any chance you'd be able to source a good hurl over there? WOuld be handy for you to know anyway in case your's got broken at some stage.

Well I got it over, just packed it into a big Northface rucksack. Twas a bit of a pain cause I had to fill the pack out to make sure it wasn't sticking out the top, and stretch it to it's limits. Got over ok though.

That is the cheapest way tape 3 or 4 and check them in. Would cost a small fortune to post them.

    Dont forget a few sliothers;)
