I'd like to attract people to come to Ireland for a minor surgical proceedure that I provide. How best do I get the word out? Anyone any views on www.allmedicaltourism.com for example? Thanks for help.

Why target people outside of Ireland who have to then travel to Ireland for your service, why not target the people who are already in Ireland?

Because, as we all know, the Irish market is tiny.In any case, it is good for our economy to bring in tourists and Medical Tourism is a growth industry.

I think you might have an uphill battle. Ireland is not known for cutting edge medical Care.
Why do you think people would come here, as opposed to say Turkey or Portugal or Spain for cheaper health care?

Jak1, you are being a bit negative. Ireland has an excellent reputation in medicine and surgery -- at least historically. But medical tourism is also about our scenery and culture and so on. I hope I can prove you all wrong.

The costs here are way too high. We are one of the most expensive countries in the world for health care. You can get the same treatment in Poland for 1/4 the price.

I'm not knocking the health sector in Ireland but business costs in general make us uncompetitive. However, people are motivated differently and some may like to come here for medical treatment if costs are not a consideration.

I would say to use the Internet and start off with Google AdWords to get the word out.

Google adwords is immensely powerful. The trick is to make sure you use a very specialised unique search term, eg if you sell spam (the meat paste) you are in trouble... Are you cheaper than the same surgery on the continent? Every American I have ever met wants to visit Ireland and has a very romantic notion about it, it might be good to isolate the ads to the US.

Looking beyond delays in access to public health services, you would be very surprised that in fact Ireland has a significant international reputation for surgery but also advances in new surgical techniques and as well as related sciences.

Maybe you should see a doctor?:D
