    Dublin Bus wishes to advise students attending the Leaving Certificate English Exam on Saturday 6th June to check timetables as weekend services operate differently to weekday services. Dublin Bus will be accepting School Travel Tickets.

    School Transport Services on Saturday June 6th 2009

    Bus Éireann, in conjunction with the Department of Education and Science, would like to assure students sitting the re-scheduled Leaving Certificate English Paper 2 on Saturday June 6th 2009 that the post primary school transport service for the State Examination period will operate on Saturday June 6th 2009.

    The service will operate on Saturday from existing pick-up points at the usual time to bring eligible students to their Exam Centres in good time i.e. no later than 9am. Following the examination, services will depart at 1.30pm.

    Students holding School Transport Scheme permits who avail of Bus Éireann public bus, Dublin Bus, Irish Rail and privately operated public scheduled services on weekdays will be able to use their ticket on these services on Saturday 6th June, 2009. Students are advised to check with the relevant service provider to verify the timetable for Saturday.

    If any School Transport Scheme ticket holder or the parent/guardian of a ticket holder is in doubt about the school bus service or public bus service they intend to use on Saturday 6th June 2009 they should contact their local Bus Éireann School Transport Office. For contact details see below.

    Scholar 5-Day Ticket: Validity extended to Saturday 6th June for Leaving Cert students by Corporate Communications

    Iarnród Éireann has extended the validity of this week's Scholar 5-Day ticket, normally valid Monday to Friday only, to include Saturday 6th June, to facilitate Leaving Certificate students sitting the rescheduled English Paper II exam.

    The Scholar 5-Day ticket is available to students over 16 years of age, in full-time second-level education, on the DART and Commuter network.

    Students are advised that a normal Saturday timetable is in operation on Saturday 6th June, and to check Saturday times before travelling.
