    Hi,

I'm new to all of this so please excuse me if I sound a little confused but what has happened to my query? I put it up in the Galway City region forum but it has now being moved to the GMIT forum. Why? I only mentioned GMIT as a reference point.

You see stupidity like this from Boards.ie mods all the time, for example, ask where to buy or rent a bike in Galway in the Galway forum and it'll be dumped in the cycling forum where 95% of the users know nothing about Galway, I think they just like demonstrating their abilities.

Its the mod of the Galway forum 'Magnus'. Hes always moving threads or merging or doing something with threads. Annoying I'd say if you started the thread.

It's also to keep the NUIG Ladyboys happy, as far as their concerned Galway has only one third level institute just like it has only one RAG week (our's) :D

It was moved due to this question, now lets not start calling the good hard working people of boards names.

    I am watching this thread!

the building at the old reception is a stairs up to what was the old library and is now being turned into some sort of labs, they need an emergency exit.

    Hi,

Thanks to all the people who wrote back, I'm a little less confused now . So is there any chance on my query being moved back to it's original location i.e. Galway City Region forum?

AFAIK there are 2 projects going on in the field (used to be called Bank of Ireland Pitch).
One is the new Garda Regional HQ - for info on that, contact the Office of Public Works - they look after this.
The other looks like a new apartment complex with an entrance on Ballyloughane Rd - don't know who is building this, but it's well underway, so your best bet is to call down and ask the Site Manager.
Hope this answers your question :)

With regard to moving the thread, I understand your frustration, but with these 2 projects along with the ongoing work in GMIT, the mods were probably only trying to move it to a forum where you would get an answer quicker. For a lot of the year there are dozens of GMIT surveying students, mapping every inch of the roads all around GMIT, who would have a good idea of what's going on, and also, the 2 main bus stops for GMIT are very close to this site.
If I find out who is building the apts, I'll send you a PM with the info.
