Little on the News but Politics and crime

Is it just me or are we lacking in any news outside of Politics and Crime on Irish TV and Radio.

I was listening to The Last Word yesterday but to me the Moratorium for the Elections was well worth the relieve from the usual.

Should we have a news show that doesn't deal with the usual looks at business, the world, arts and other things happening?

I have considered setting up my own newspaper that just reports the good news. I simply don't think that it'd work though. People are more attracted to scandal/negativity, unfortunately. I do think that newspapers need more regulation though. I mean, some of the tabloids over in the UK admit to fabricating stories about people. Why should that be legal?

Ah! I see what you did there you thought I was talking about a news show or paper only dealing with good news, but I was actually talking about news outside of Government/Politics and Crime/Law.

Their are other important things that happen that take place in other areas of news which are just as important.

Ah... sorry. I think that was a case of me reading what I wanted to read, rather than what was actually there. Peculiarily enough, this is recognised as a common problem in thesis-writing/reading. Still, I'd love it if there was some newspaper out there that only reported good news... ...it'd go bust in a week.

No again I wasn't talking about GOOD NEWS I was talking about OTHER NEWS. Which could be just as bad as CRIME and POLITICS.

My apologies my friend. I went on about it for no reason other than I felt like it. That's what typically happens to thread-topics: They drift this way and that from the main theme.

    TAke care,
    Kevin
